At 12 years of age my son Christopher was trailing slightly behind me in the long hallway of George Harrison’s Crackerbox Palace at Henley on Thames, England. With slightly perplexed attention, he was studying the gallery of Beatles pictures stretched all the way down the walls–a complete history of John, Paul, George and Ringo. George had met us at the front door and was silently leading us through the hall to the kitchen where Stevie Winwood and guitar hero Alvin Lee were hanging out over morning tea. George and I were to discuss the photos I was shooting for his album “George Harrison,” an assignment given to me by the late, great Warner Bros. Records art director, Ed Thrasher, and producer Russ Titelman. As we approached the kitchen, Chris ran up beside George and I and – not quietly – said, “Dad, those guys in the photos…I thought they all were dead.”

What a great shot. I recall being at the US Grand Prix in the 70s in the pits of whatever car Harrison was sponsoring in his motor racing days and his SCREAMING at me as the car came in to fuel to GET THE F OUT OF THE WAY. MY brush with greatness. Patrick C.

Mike,
What a cool memory to give your son, let alone getting to work for Ed Thrasher, no less! And a Luna Pro ?!?!? Jeeze that makes me feel old to even know what that is. At age 18 when I was still a poseur shooter in Jr. College, I walked around with mine around my neck even when not shooting, because I thought it made me cool. Mine is still buried somewhere, just in case Scott, who commented above, wants a 2nd one. Love your blogs. Pete

lol some of the remarks bloggers post are a bit spacey, every so often i ponder whether these people really scan through the content articles and threads before putting a comment or whether they simply skim the blog post title and write the very first opinion that pops into their brain. anyway, it is actually helpful to search intelligent commentary from time to time in contrast to exactly the same, old opinion which i sometimes notice through the web.

That is some inspirational stuff. Never knew that opinions could be this varied. Thanks for all the enthusiasm to offer such helpful information here.
